The Connection Between Illegal Drug Trafficking And The CIA

It is believed that the CIA has been involved in international trafficking of drugs like cocaine and heroine, and the agency is using the profits from this to finance covert operations across the world.
However, the connection between illegal drug trafficking and the CIA is not well known as the US media does whatever it can to protect the CIA and thereby keeping ordinary people in the dark. This fact has been mentioned in an article written by Carl Bernstein and published in the Rolling Stone magazine in October 1977. However, the article was not given too much importance as the mainstream media in the US did not think it was proper for the public to know this fact.
It is a known fact that the CIA has been trafficking heroine from the days of the Vietnam War. It is also said that when the Reagan administration wanted to finance its war against Nicaragua, the CIA imported large quantities of cocaine from Latin America and sold it to the Mafia; using the profits from these sales to fund the its covert operations. However, many believe that the reason for all the secrecy is because the activities of selling illegal drugs by the CIA goes against American values and that is why this fact had to be concealed from the people; and it is still being concealed.
However, the CIA has always denied any connection with illegal drug trafficking but the rumors still persist.
